How to Save Money By Combining Event Budget Categories

Tell me if this sounds familiar: you’re planning an event, looking at the budget, and wondering where you can squeeze in a little more for something you really want. The solution? Combine categories! It doesn’t only have to be limited to party entertainment and souvenirs!

For example, with our Flipbook Booth you don’t just get something fun and unique to entertain your party guests all night, you also get a souvenir that they’ll actually want to keep around to look at again and again!

Party Entertainment and Souvenirs in One!

Even though I already mentioned how our flipbook booth can combine these categories, we aren’t the only way! I can think of a few other options to combine this category.

Arts and Crafts

Arts and crafts are no longer just for kids. And if you think you aren’t good enough at art to have fun with it, I will have to disagree. If you would like to prove me wrong, all you have to do is make art based on what is fun and not what you think it should look like. If you’re still miserable; you win, and I will announce my errors. Until then, I will continue on assuming you’re just caring too much about the end result to love the process.

Pottery Classes

Maybe you’ll make the couple in Ghost look like amateurs, maybe you’ll end up with a lumpy mess. Either way, I can’t think of a better way to make homemade decor than with friends and family.

Paint & Sip

Artists plan out a painting step-by-step and they usually provide all the supplies for a reasonable price for the evening, and perhaps some wine or even coffee. It’s usually pretty self-paced, and it could just be the introduction to painting you didn’t know you needed.

Vision Board Party

Are January’s “resolutions” lacking resolve? Bring creativity, optimism, and goals together with an artsy and purposeful craft. Also, it’s a great way to have some fun group accountability if you’re into that.

Scrapbooking Party

In the age of cameras on our cellphones rivaling DSLR quality in some cases, I know we don’t have as many printed photos as we used to. And what do you do with the ones you do have? The answer: make a scrapbook! It can be one page at a time, and that can make this a recurring party idea!

Party Entertainment and Food

Another budget category blending opportunity is making the food an experience for your guests. There are a few different opportunities to maximize this combination!

Personal Pizza Creation

If you’ve ever heard of Mod Pizza this idea has a similar concept. If you haven’t, the idea is that every pizza starts as a blank slate and the pizza is created step by step right in front of you, and then cooked. Afterwards, there are different finishing sauce options to create a truly unique combination. If your guests can top their own pizzas, it will be a fun memory and a yummy meal!

Cookie Decorating

It isn’t just for kids at Christmas-time, it can get very elegant and super tasty. What kind of art could be better than sweet, crumbly, edible art?

Cooking Classes

Similar to a pizza creation, but maybe stepped up a level or two in difficulty; this is probably one of my favorite ideas (flipbook booth excluded).

Using Your Imagination to Combine Party Categories

There you have a fun list of ways to entertain, feed, and also save money!

What other combinations can you think of that can ultimately save you money, as well as make a lasting impression on your guests?

Which combo is your favorite? You already know we like the party and souvenir in one with our flipbook booth. If you’re interested, make sure you book your dates while they’re available!
